Acers, or Japanese Maples are small, deciduous trees that are grown for their graceful habit and beautiful foliage that may be richly coloured and/or deeply dissected in Spring and Summer. However come Autumn, Acers create a spectacular display with their colours turning fiery crimson, orange and gold. Mostly slow growing, they are the classic small trees for traditional Japanese gardens.
