Ilex crenata, also known as a Japanese Holly, is a slow-growing, variable, evergreen shrub or small tree, growing up to 5m tall. Tiny, glossy scalloped dark green leaves grow to 3cm long and nearly 2cm wide. Small white flowers, borne in summer, are followed by shiny black fruits. This 17cm Ilex crenata has been shaped into a 20cm ball and is suitable for topiarising.
